Yılın havayolu ödülü kafa karıştırdı

Havacılığın bütün ana kategorilerinde ödül dağıtan tek uluslararası ödül olan Air Transport News Ödül Töreni yapıldı. Türkiye’den Turkish Carco, THY Teknik A.Ş, TAV Havalimanları ödüle layık görülürken, Türk Hava Yolları da en iyi havayolu şirketi ödülünü aldı.
Air Transport, ödül töreni ile ilgili 26 Mart tarihinde yayınladığı bildiride törene Temel Kotil’in katılacağını duyururken 30 Mart tarihinde ise yeni bir metin yayınlayarak Temel Kotil ismi yerine İlker Aycı adı kullanıldı.

Ödül törenine ne İlker Aycı katılabildi ne de Temel Kotil. Her iki yöneticinin de Cumhurbaşkanının seyahatine eşlik etmelerinden dolayı Amerika’da olduğu kaydedilirken, ödül töreni için yapılan açıklamalardaki Temel Kotil ve İlker Aycı'nın isim değişikliğinin neden yapıldığı anlaşılamadı.
Ödülü THY adına Akif Konar aldı.

“Turkish Cargo as a sub-brand of Turkish Airlines, utilizing its flight network and fleet, has become one of the fastest growing players in the global air cargo industry. Turkish Cargo achieved 18% yearly average growth over the past decade. Turkish Cargo increased its cargo and mail volume to 720.000 tons in 2015 and aims to be in “The League of Millions” in terms of cargo carried. With the existing fleet structure, cargo services to 55 cargo destinations are on offer besides 284 destinations with passengers aircraft. We can say Turkish Cargo carries cargo and mails to more countries than any other airline and has the widest network. Turkish Cargo continues its investments without deceleration like the new cargo terminal in Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Turkish Cargo will have 150,000 m2 enclosed area in the new airport in Istanbul. As the only international prizes that award all the main categories of the air transport industry, 2016 Air Transport News Awards Ceremony took place in Mozart Residence, Salzburg. Turkish Airlines and its sub-brands were again among the winners. Turkish Airlines has been awarded "Airline of The Year".
